Timothy Wilkins

Timothy A. Wilkins is the Global Partner for Client Sustainability at the international law firm, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP. As one of the first lawyers to head up a sustainability practice, he leads a global team, drawing on the firm’s regulatory, litigation and transactional expertise to advise clients related to environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities. Prior to taking this role, he maintained a cross-border mergers and acquisition practice in the firm’s New York and Tokyo offices. Mr. Wilkins also teaches a sustainability seminar as an Adjunct Law Professor at Georgetown Law School. Mr. Wilkins is active in a number of community and social justice organizations. He currently serves as the Chair of the New York Public Radio Board. In other board service, he previously served on the Board of NYC Economic Development Corporation (appointed by the Mayor of New York City), the New York Public Theater, the Opportunity Agenda and the Dalton School. In recognition of his private and public service, Mr. Wilkins has been selected as a Top 100 Ethnic Minority Executive by Empower for 2022 (Ranked #4). Mr. Wilkins is a graduate of Harvard College (magna cum laude), Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School.
