Stone MacBeth

Stone MacBeth is a Staff Attorney in the Criminal Defense Practice at The Bronx Defenders, where he represents people charged with crimes throughout all phases of their case. Prior to joining The Bronx Defenders in 2023, Stone started his career as a public defender in the trial division at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia (PDS), where he represented juveniles and adults charged with serious felonies. Throughout his career as a defender, Stone has also had the opportunity to work on parole, compassionate release, civil court, and family court cases. He also currently coaches national mock trial teams for Cardozo Law's Benedict Morelli Trial Team, and has taught trial skills to summer law clerks at both PDS and The Bronx Defenders.  

Stone earned his J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law where he worked as a student attorney in the Criminal and Immigration Defense Clinic, served as a team leader for the Korey Wise Innocence Project, and interned with the Colorado State Public Defender. Outside of his criminal defense experience, Stone worked extensively in civil rights, interning for a civil rights firm and the ACLU's national Criminal Law Reform Project. He also helped create, and obtained, a certificate in International Law and was inducted into the National Order of Barristers. Stone earned his B.A. from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
