Nicholas Raskin

Nick Raskin is a staff attorney at Appellate Advocates, where he represents low-income New Yorkers convicted of criminal offenses in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island on appeal. Before that, he clerked for the Honorable Jenny Rivera of the New York Court of Appeals. He also represented clients in criminal proceedings as a staff attorney at The Legal Aid Society, where he worked for over five years. In 2026, Nick joined Columbia Law School as a Lecturer in Law for the Legal Practice Workshop.
Nick graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was a student attorney with the Criminal Justice Institute, the Prison Legal Assistance Project, and the Crimmigration Clinic, and was the intake co-chair for the Tenant Advocacy Project. During law school, Nick interned at Orleans Public Defenders, The Bronx Defenders, and the Federal Public Defender Office in Boston. Nick received his B.A. in government and economics, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Cornell University.
