Michael Weiner

Michael B. Weiner serves as chief legal officer of Morgan Stanley's unit investment trusts, the "Morgan Stanley Portfolios," and advises Morgan Stanley Wealth Management on the distribution of mutual funds, ETFs and other registered investment products. Michael began his career as a litigator at Milbank LLP, where he specialized in defending fund advisers from various types of claims, before becoming associate general counsel at an asset manager. Michael enjoys writing about fund regulation and has published articles in the Virginia Law & Business Review, the Michigan Business & Entrepreneurial Law Review and The Investment Lawyer. He graduated Order of the Coif from Vanderbilt University Law School and Swarthmore College, where he played lacrosse. Michael is active in his local community and serves on the board of directors of the Metropolitan Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund and Oak Lane Child Care Center.
