Mehdi Ansari

Mehdi Ansari is a partner and co-head of Sullivan & Cromwell's Intellectual Property and Technology Group. Mehdi’s practice focuses on advising clients on a wide range of transactions involving intellectual property, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, licenses, collaborations, research and development agreements, settlements and strategic advice. He represents clients in a wide range of contexts, including sports, media and entertainment, consumer and retail, healthcare and life sciences, technology, telecommunications, financial services (including FinTech) and digital assets (including NFTs).

Mehdi has been named a Rising Star in Sports & Betting (Law360, 2022), a Top 10 Intellectual Property Lawyer in North America (MergerLinks, 2021), a member of Patent 1000 (Intellectual Asset Management, 2019-2022), an IP Trailblazer (The National Law Journal, 2019), an Emerging Leader (The M&A Advisor, 2018), and Americas Top 50 Rising Stars (Global M&A Network, 2018).

Mehdi is co-head of the transactional subcommittee of the New York City Bar’s Sports Law Committee, and is a member of the board of the directors of the Untermeyer Gardens Conservancy, a non-profit.

Mehdi is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley School of Law and U.C. Berkeley, where he received his bachelor of science degree, magna cum laude, in electrical engineering and computer science.
