Mark Nielsen is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Frontier Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: FTR). With 2018 revenues of $8.6 billion, Frontier is America's fourth largest landline telephone company. Nielsen grew up in the Hartford area and began his legal career in 1990 as an associate lawyer at the Hartford law firm of Murtha, Cullina, Richter & Pinney, concentrating on federal and state litigation.

Nielsen's public roles have included Connecticut State Representative (1992 to 1994) and State Senator (1994 to 1998). Nielsen served as a staff member to Mitt Romney when Romney was Governor of Massachusetts, first as Romney's Chief Legal Counsel from (2004 to 2006) and then his Chief of Staff (2006 to 2007).

Nielsen, an honors graduate of Harvard College (1986) and Harvard Law School (1989), lives with his wife and two children in Ridgefield, Connecticut and New York City.
