Lois T. Saldana serves as an Assistant Attorney General in the New York State Attorney General’s Civil Rights Bureau, where she spearheads complex investigations and high-impact litigation. Her practice addresses critical issues, including oversight of local correctional facilities, policing practices, free speech, employment discrimination, pay equity, and healthcare access. In 2021, Professor Saldana was honored with the Louis J. Lefkowitz Award for her instrumental role in the Attorney General’s groundbreaking lawsuit against opioid manufacturers and distributors, securing over $2.6 billion in settlements to combat New York’s opioid crisis.
Prior to her current role, Professor Saldana was an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, where she represented corporate clients in high-stakes commercial disputes, securities class actions, and regulatory investigations. She also devoted substantial time to pro bono work.
A Fulbright Scholar, Professor Saldana graduated from Brown University and earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she excelled as an AnBryce Scholar and served on the NYU Moot Court Board
