Lawrence Jacobs

Larry Jacobs is the managing attorney for Davis Polk & Wardwell where he also serves as the firm's litigation counsel and director of training for litigation.

He is the author of “Ex Parte Information and the Appellate Review of Capital Sentences,” 60 N.Y.U. Law Review 104, 1985. Prior to joining Davis Polk in 1997, Jacobs had been a litigator with Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison and Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel.

He clerked for the Honorable Phyllis A. Kravitch of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit from 1985 to 1986.

Jacobs received his J.D., from New York University School of Law, where he was a Baer Memorial Scholar and the senior articles editor of the New York University Law Review. He graduated from Bennington College in 1978.
