Lauren Thomas is the General Counsel of Faire, a global wholesale marketplace valued at over $12 billion. At Faire, Lauren leads the Legal, Compliance, and Government Relations functions, oversees a team of eleven and has advised the company through a period of rapid international expansion, product innovation, and IPO preparedness. Her portfolio includes corporate governance, commercial contracting, international employment and privacy, litigation and risk mitigation, AI and trust & safety, and regulatory strategy. 

Prior to Faire, Lauren was General Counsel at Dutchie, a point-of-sale platform for the cannabis industry, where she managed legal, compliance, and government affairs. She also served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Good Money, where she oversaw all legal and regulatory functions and helped structure a mission-driven financial platform investing 50% of profits in environmental and social justice causes. Earlier in her career, Lauren was Corporate Counsel at Block (fka Square), where she led the legal teams for M&A and corporate governance, and a corporate associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where she advised on multi-billion-dollar transactions and public company governance matters. 


Lauren serves on the Board of Directors of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of San Francisco and the Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association. She holds a B.A. in Social Studies from Harvard College and a J.D. from the Yale Law School.
