Jill L. Miller is the principal of Jill Miller & Associates, P.C., a boutique trusts & estates law firm with offices in New York City and Asbury Park, New Jersey, where she advises individuals, families, and fiduciaries on estate planning, wealth transfer, charitable planning, and complex probate matters.

She earned a B.S. from Cornell University, followed by a J.D., cum laude, from Cornell Law School and an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.  

Professor Miller is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and will serve as the Downstate Chair of ACTEC in the spring of 2026.

Previous to coming to Columbia Law School,  Professor Miller taught Wills and Trusts at Fordham Law School for 10 years and thereafter taught 10 years at Cornell Law School where she was the Director and Adjunct Professor of Law for the Estate Planning Practicum.
