Jey Hernandez

Jey Hernandez is a law library specialist and lecturer in law at Columbia Law School. They teach introductory legal research classes as part of the first-year Legal Practice Workshop and are in the process of earning their Masters degree in library science.

Before changing careers to law librarianship and legal instruction, Jey worked as an immigration attorney with the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and the Sex Workers Project at the Urban Justice Center. They earned their J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2014 and a B.A. in philosophy from the College of New Jersey in 2011. Jey is admitted to practice law in New York and speaks fluent Spanish.
