Elizabeth Farber Bernhardt is Counsel at Cohen & Gresser in the litigation department
From 1993 to 2004 she was supervisor in the Appeals Bureau in the office if the District Attorney for Bronx County. She argued before the Appellate Division of the New York State Court of Appeals and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. She was editor and moot court supervisor for junior staff.
From 1988 to 1992 she was a litigation associate with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York.
She has taught as an adjunct at Fordham University School of Law.
Bernhardt earned her bachelor's degree in English from Barnard College in 1966. She earned a master's degree and Ph.D. in English from Columbia University. She earned her J.D. in 1988 from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and was executive editor of the Columbia Journal of Law and Social Problems.
