David Goodwin

David L. Goodwin is a judge on the New York City Criminal Court. He previously served as a supervisory staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, practiced special education law with Partnership for Children's Rights (now part of Mobilization for Justice), and represented low-income New Yorkers as an appellate public defender at Appellate Advocates. David also clerked for the Hon. Katharine S. Hayden of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Hon. Julio M. Fuentes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and began his career as a Third Circuit staff attorney.

David holds an A.B. from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from NYU School of Law. A Trustee for the Historical Society for the New York Courts, David edits the Society’s journal, Judicial Notice.
