Because of COVID-19, Columbia Law School currently has a hiring freeze.  We are accepting applications for the Academic Fellows Program in the hope that we will be able to hire later in the year. Please complete and submit an online application using the online application form on this page. Supporting documents listed below, other than recommenders’ letters, must be uploaded in PDF format via this online application. Reach us by email at [email protected] for additional information.

  1. Cover letter.
  2. Curriculum vitae.
  3. Research and teaching agenda, which should discuss in detail the academic projects you plan to undertake as an Academic Fellow, as well as any relevant teaching experience.
  4. Scholarly writing sample that demonstrates your writing and analytical abilities, as well as your ability to generate interesting, original ideas.
  5. Official transcripts from all law schools attended.
  6. Up to three letters of recommendation, of which at least two must be from professors who can comment on your scholarly potential, proposed research projects, and teaching experience. Many recommenders prefer to submit letters directly. In that case, please list their names on your application and ask them to submit their letters by email to [email protected]. Letters should be in PDF format.
