J.D. Self-Guided Tour

Take a self-guided tour with our interactive map, and explore Columbia Law School on Columbia University’s Morningside campus.

The interactive map below will guide you through the Law School campus. Please note that you will only have access to the following buildings during the tour: William and June Warren Hall (1) and Jerome L. Greene Hall (4); the other buildings on the map require a Columbia University ID. Also, please note that the Law Library in Jerome L. Greene Hall is currently closed for renovation.

After touring the Law School, we encourage you to explore Columbia University landmarks along College Walk, such as Low Memorial Library, Butler Library, and Alma Mater—the iconic bronze sculpture beloved by generations of Columbians.

We hope you enjoy your tour of campus.

Please note that visitors are required to register in advance. For more information about visiting the Law School and scheduling a self-guided tour, please visit the Visitor Registration page.

Home to the Law School’s main classrooms and faculty offices, Jerome L. Greene Hall is our community’s hub. Student groups frequently set up tables in the lobby for outreach.

The Donald G. Drapkin Student Lounge on the third floor is a sunlit space for quiet reading that is also used for special events. The nearby Lenfest Café is a convenient and convivial spot for all-day dining with outdoor seating on an expansive terrace.

Faculty offices and seminar rooms occupy floors five through nine. Columbia Law clinics occupy offices on the eighth and ninth floors. Open to all second- and third-year students, clinics are taught by full-time clinical faculty and give students the opportunity to work on behalf of real clients.

A sign marks the entrance to the Alia Tutor Law Library, with a marble atrium opening to the library.

The Law School is undertaking a multi-year project to renovate—and fully reimagine—the Law Library into a marquee space befitting its place at the nexus of student learning, groundbreaking scholarship, and community life.

Made possible through funds raised during the Campaign for Columbia Law, including a lead gift from Alia Tutor ’00, the new space will include:

  • An open, light-filled design with views across Revson and Ancell Plazas featuring a signature two-story reading room.
  • More than 600 study seats, an increase of over 60 percent over the current library’s capacity.
  • Reservable group study rooms of various sizes designed to be flexible and adaptable to evolving law school pedagogy.
  • Tastefully appointed furniture, fixtures, and aesthetic details throughout to create a comfortable, well-designed, and beautiful space for all who use it.
  • State-of-the-art technology, ample supply of power, and flexible room and seating configurations.
