Columbia Law School Team Wins LL.M. Moot Court Competition

Yakshay Chheda '14 LL.M., Alexander Grimm '14 LL.M., and Nikhil Pillai '14 LL.M. Took Home First Place in 10-School Competition

New York, March 25, 2014—Columbia Law School’s LL.M. Arbitration Moot Court team took home first place at the Third LL.M. International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition held March 13 and 14 in D.C.

 Team members Yakshay Chheda ’14 LL.M., Alexander Grimm ’14 LL.M., and Nikhil Pillai ’14 LL.M. bested 16 teams from 10 other law schools, including the University of Pennsylvania Law School, UC Berkeley School of Law, and Georgetown University Law Center. The event was specifically created for LL.M. students and seeks to foster the study of international arbitration for the resolution of international business disputes and investment disputes.
 
Chheda also took home honorable mention for Best Oralist at the competition, which was hosted by the Center on International Commercial Arbitration at American University Washington College of Law.
