Angie Byun

Angie Byun is the CEO of AB WORLD, a global consulting firm advising leading U.S., Asian, and international media, entertainment, fashion, sports, food & beverage, and luxury companies on IP monetization, cross-border market expansion, and digital and innovation strategy. Since its founding in 2020, AB WORLD has worked with clients including Panda Express Japan, NHK Japan, Condé Nast, TIME, W Magazine, BDG Media, Signal Messaging App, Wynn Resorts Macau, an NBA franchise, and emerging consumer products and lifestyle brands from Korea, Japan and China.
Prior to founding AB WORLD, Angie was at Condé Nast for 13 years and held various executive level corporate roles across new business development, business and legal affairs, sales and marketing, and international licensing for Vogue, GQ, Golf Digest, Wired, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Condé Nast Traveler, Architectural Digest and Bon Appétit – successfully launching and managing new international editions, branded products and experiences, global advertising partnerships and over 100+ brand extensions across 30+ markets worldwide in 18 languages.
Earlier in her career, she served as a licensing attorney at Jones Apparel Group, managing legal and IP licensing matters across a portfolio of 18 apparel and retail brands with over 150 domestic and international licenses, and prior to that, she was a staff attorney at Paul Weiss. Under the Clinton Administration, she served as a law clerk in the Office of the Chief of Staff at The White House in 1999 and also interned in the Office of Cabinet Affairs in 1996. She was a Research Assistant for a Member of Parliament in the U.K.’s House of Commons from 1996-1997.
Angie is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Fordham Law School, where she has taught IP Fashion Licensing since 2014, focusing on trademark licensing, negotiations and transactions. She is also a frequent speaker on global market expansion and emerging issues in IP protection across international jurisdictions, AI, e-commerce and the creator economy.
She received her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School, B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of California at Berkeley, and studied Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) as a visiting student at Oxford University.
