-- 01:10 PM EST
In an historic decision that will serve as a nationwide model, the New York State Public Service Commission this week approved an Order requiring Con Edison to implement state-of-the-art measures to plan for and protect its electric, gas, and steam systems from the effects of climate change.
Please join Professor Michael Gerrard for an exciting discussion of the significant role played by Columbia Law School's Center for Climate Change Law, and the strategies used by a coalition of NGO's and academic centers to work together and to influence the development of innovative resiliency measures and impact future expenditures. As part of the Lawyering for Change in a Changing World series, the lunch will be set up to facilitate opportunities for dialogue among the students and the speakers about the role of lawyers in advancing change in the area of climate change.
Non-pizza lunch will be served. Co-presented by Social Justice Initiatives and the Lawyering for Change in a Changing World series.
