Sex Work and Human Rights: Debunking Myths about Prostitution and the Law.

Start/End Tuesday, April 08, 2014 12:10 PM EDT -- 01:10 PM EDT
Location Name JG 102A

Sienna Baskin, Co-Director of the Sex Workers Project in New York, will discuss how anti-human trafficking policies and political rhetoric ends up harming sex workers in America and keeps the country from enacting laws to reduce violence and marginalization experienced by sex workers. The Sex Workers Project was founded in 2001 and is the first in New York to provide legal services and advocacy for sex workers based on a harm reduction and human rights model.
