-- 09:00 PM EDT
The Columbia Club of New York
Each year, the Gala honors Paul Robeson, one of Columbia Law's most notable and respected alumni who dedicated his life to excellence in scholarship, civil rights, athletics, and the performing arts.
This year's celebration will feature keynote speaker Professor Josef Sorett, whose scholarship at Columbia University focuses on the intersections of religion and black communities and cultures in the United States. His works have been featured in the New York Times, Culture and Religion, the Washington Post, and numerous other journals and publications.
This year's honoree is alumna Michèle Stephenson, Law '95. A documentary filmmaker, Ms. Stephenson recently won the Sundance U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for her film American Promise, which follows her son and his friend's journey through the private and public education systems in New York City.
Cocktails begin at 6:30 pm. The dinner and reception will start at 7:30. Cocktail attire requested.
