SJI Monday: Lawyering for Change in a Changing World - Policing Reform and Stop and Frisk
Monday, October 07, 2013 12:10 PM EDT
-- 01:10 PM EDT
CLS and Public Health Professor Jeffrey Fagan, a widely recognized scholar on the subject of police and citizen interactions, will speak on policing reform and stop and frisk. Professor Fagan's research was part of the record in Floyd v. City of NY, a class action law suit challenging the NYC Police Department's stop-and-frisk policy. This summer, the District Court found that policy, and the tactics used by the Department, unconstitutional and discriminatory. CLS Professor Olati Johnson will provide an introduction.
Non-pizza lunch will be served. Co-presented by Social Justice Initiatives.
