2015 Public Interest Honors Celebration
On Tuesday, April 7, 2015, Social Justice Initiatives at Columbia Law School gathered students, graduates, faculty and administrators for our 22nd annual celebration honoring outstanding student contributions to social justice work at the Law School and beyond. Among those students honored were those who worked two summers in the public interest, graduating students going directly into public interest, government, or human rights work after graduation, students who performed more than 100 hours of pro bono service, public interest peer mentors, and members of the Dean's Cup and Public Interest Law Foundation student boards.
Our Distinguished Graduate honoree and keynote speaker was Nancy Northup '88, President and CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights. Dean Gillian Lester opened the program with a warm welcome, and Assistant Dean for Social Justice Initiatives Ellen Chapnick and the SJI staff announced the student honorees.
