Dean Saavedra joined Columbia Law School after twelve years in private practice.  A 2006 CLS graduate, Dean Saavedra practiced in the Business Finance and Restructuring department at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP, where she was a member of key deal teams during the 2008 Financial crisis and beyond.  She also served as a teaching assistant to adjunct faculty member Harvey R. Miller '59 in his course on Corporate Restructuring at CLS,and won awards for her dedication to pro bono service while at Weil.  

Dean Saavedra transitioned her practice in-house to Nomura Securities International and then joined the Executive Office of Goldman, Sachs & Co., with a focus on reputational risk.  In 2017, Dean Saavedra chose to pivot to public service and clerked for the Honorable Stacey L. Meisel of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.  In that capacity, Dean Saavedra gained first hand knowledge of the demands of a federal clerkship; the challenges of judicial administration; and the importance of public service.  Dean Saavedra has also served as Lecturer-in-Law on a course on Advanced Corporate Restructuring, which she co-taught with the Honorable Robert E. Gerber of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York (Retired).  She is passionate about opening up professional opportunities for the next generation of lawyers and civil leaders.

Marka Belinfanti

Marka Belinfanti is the Assistant Director of Judicial Clerkships at Columbia Law School.  She counsels all J.D. students and alumni regarding judicial clerkships, develops and manages clerkship resources, and implements clerkship programming.  Marka earned her law degree from Fordham University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College.  Following law school, Marka worked as a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society and thereafter, as an associate attorney at various New York law firms specializing in consumer and class action litigation.  Prior to joining Columbia, she worked at Fordham Law where she advised students on judicial clerkships and all aspects of the legal career and professional development process.

Anne E. Green

Anne E. Green is a clerkship consultant at Columbia Law School. From 2012 to 2017, she served as the Director of Academic Counseling and Judicial Programming at the Law School, advising students regarding judicial clerkships, leading the judicial outreach and programming effort, overseeing the law journals, and providing academic counseling. She also co-taught the Federal Appellate Court Externship. Prior to joining Columbia, Green was a litigator in the areas of complex commercial litigation, employment law, securities law, and government enforcement. From 2005 to 2006, she clerked for Judge Mary A. McLaughlin of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Green received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2005, where she served as an editor of the Law Review, and her B.S. from Cornell University in 2002.
