Tasnia Mir is the Program Manager of the Human Rights Institute at Columbia Law School. Before joining the Institute, Mir served as a consultant to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), conceptualizing advocacy campaigns and videos to link UNRWA’s humanitarian programming for Palestinian refugees with broader global development benchmarks. In previous roles at the International Rescue Committee, the Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility, the United Nations Foundation, and UN Women, Mir cultivated a passion for a wide range of human rights issues, including forced migration, public health, inclusive education, economic empowerment, and gender equality. She is passionate about building cross-cultural connections and has worked with refugee communities in Syria, Turkey, Jordan, and Kenya. Mir holds an MA in International Affairs from The New School with dual concentrations in Human Rights and Conflict & Security, and a BA in English from Skidmore College.
