Nathaniel Fensterstock Visiting Professor of Law (Fall 2019)

Ryan Doerfler is a Professor of Law at the University of Chicago. He teaches in the areas of legislation and administrative law. His research focuses on questions of statutory and constitutional interpretation, drawing on contemporary work in epistemology and philosophy of language. He is also interested in various doctrinal puzzles in administrative law and federal courts. Ryan clerked for the Honorable Sandra L. Lynch for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He earned a J.D. and a Ph.D. in philosophy from Harvard University. He also received a B.A. in philosophy from Wake Forest University.
