Joel Kosman is the director of academic counseling and student organizations at Columbia Law School.
Kosman has worked as a litigation and transactional attorney in private law firms, and has also taught at and been the co-coordinator of the Lawyering Program at the New York University School of Law. He previously clerked for the Honorable Robert L. Carter of the Southern District of New York and served with the New York County District Attorney’s Office for 10 years, during which he was senior investigative counsel.
Kosman is a licensed clinical social worker.
Kosman earned his J.D. from the NYU Law School, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and served as an editor of the New York University Law Review. He also holds a M.S.W. from the New York University School of Social Work.
