Hunter Whaley

Lecturer in Law

Hunter Whaley is a lecturer in law and a reference librarian at Columbia Law School. Primarily fielding research questions at the reference desk, Whaley also teaches introductory legal research classes as part of the Law School’s first-year Legal Practice Workshop and LL.M. Legal Research and Writing.

Prior to coming to Columbia Law School in 2015, Whaley earned his B.A in 2008, J.D. in 2013, and, finally, his M.L.I.S. in 2014 in Florida. Whaley enjoys learning about new teaching strategies and ways to make his classes more engaging.

When not helping with research strategies, Whaley is strategizing with his players as a coach for Columbia’s Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team.
