Edward D. Cavanagh teaches antitrust law, civil procedure, conflict of laws, complex litigation, and law and economics at St. John’s University School of Law and has written and lectured extensively in the antitrust and complex litigation areas.
He is a past chair of the NYSBA Antitrust Section and currently a member of its Executive Committee. He is also a member of the ABA Antitrust Section, where he currently serves as co-chair of the Committee on Oral History and Public Service. He has previously served on the Council of the Antitrust Section, as co-chair of the Public Service Committee, co-chair of the Committee on Civil Practice and Procedure, and co-chair of the Committee on Ethics and Professionalism. Cavanagh also serves as a member of the EDNY Civil Litigation Committee. Before entering the teaching field, he practiced antitrust law with two law firms in New York City.
He received his J.D. with distinction from Cornell Law School and his LL.M. and J.S.D. from Columbia Law School. Cavanagh earned his A.B. summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame.
