William Shirley of Sidley Austin LLP and Dana Neacsu discuss research aspects regarding the interplay between bankruptcy and derivatives rules. From September 12 through October 31, 2019, on Thursdays at noon, they will cover eight different topics.  For the first week, the topics include researching the Bankruptcy Code (Chapter 11); the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (FDIA) (bank resolution); the Orderly Liquidation Authority under Title II of Dodd-Frank (resolution of large non-bank financial institutions) and NY State Insurance company receivership law (resolution of NY State-licensed insurance companies. Make sure you bring your laptop because the workshop will provide hands-on experiential training in order to hone your skills in various methods for researching federal and state statutes. Some non-pizza food will be provided courtesy of the Arthur W. Diamond Law Library. The workshop is sponsored by Columbia Law School’s Writing Center.
