SJI Monday: Intro to Government Lawyering—Local, State, and Federal

Oct 2022

Join SJI and SPIN to hear from a panel of professionals from local, state, and federal government. Learn about opportunities available at the various levels of government and in numerous practice areas, such as environmental law, civil rights, anti-corruption, voting rights, gun control, consumer protection, and labor and employment.

Alex Hogan, SJI’s director of government programs, will moderate a panel composed of individuals from all three levels of government who are (or were) practicing attorneys at their respective offices but are also familiar with their office’s hiring practices. The speakers will touch upon the diverse type of work that can be done within government, but also discuss the hiring processes of their specific offices.

We intend to be joined by speakers from the New York City Law Department, the New York Attorney General’s Office, and the Department of Justice.

Lunch will be provided. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options will be available. If you have any other dietary requirements, please email [email protected] at least five business days before the event. We will do our best to accommodate last-minute requests.

Cosponsored by SJI and SPIN.
