SJI Monday: Being a Civil Rights Lawyer in the Federal Government

Oct 2022

David Kennedy and Ellen Blain are the co-chiefs of the Civil Rights Unit at the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. In that role, they have prosecuted landmark civil rights cases in a wide array of contexts, including fair housing, carceral reform, employment discrimination, accessibility, religious discrimination, and abuse by law enforcement officers. Hear them talk substantively about their work and the career trajectories that led them to their current roles.

Lunch will be provided. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options will be available. If you have any other dietary requirements, please email [email protected] at least five business days before the event. We will do our best to accommodate last-minute requests.

Hosted by the Office of Social Justice Initiatives (SJI).
