From metal detectors to the growing presence of police, American schools are looking less and less like bastions of learning. The criminalization of black and brown youth in schools is an epidemic that has implications that impact not only their educational outcomes but also play a heavy role in their future socio-economic mobility. This panel of advocates will focus on demystifying the nature and reach of the pipeline and discuss the ways in which we can resist the expansion and intrusion of the criminal justice system in our schools.

This event sponsored in part by the Student Senate with funds from the Student Activity Fee.
