Radhika Sainath (Palestine Legal) and Chip Gibbons (Defending Rights & Dissent) will discuss the Palestine Exception to Free Speech---the limits of the First Amendment's freedom of speech as it pertains to pro-Palestinian advocacy. They will describe the evolution of the Palestine Exception in America over the past several years and focus especially on its manifestation through recent controversies surrounding Marc Lamont Hill, Angela Davis, and Representative Ilhan Omar, as well as anti-boycott legislation that is slowly becoming more pervasive in the United States.
