First-year J.D. students, get ready for PILC! Preview the logistics and venue for the 2020 Public Interest Legal Career (PILC) Fair and learn tips for interviews and table talk.

About the PILC Fair:

The PILC Fair, held every year at NYU, is the largest legal career fair of its kind in the country. Attendees have the opportunity to formally interview with participating employers (who number in the hundreds) at the Fair and to more informally connect with employers at information tables, a process known as "table talk". Most employers are hiring 1Ls for the upcoming summer. (A smaller number of employers hire for 2Ls summer or for postgraduate positions for either J.D.s or LL.M.s; this varies by year.) The 2020 PILC Fair will be held on February 6 and 7.

Important Details about PILC:

  • Registration is free.
  • When registering, use your UNI (the first part of your Columbia email address) as your "student ID."
  • To be eligible for formal interviews with employers, you must register and submit interview applications by January 16 at 11:59 a.m. Students who do not meet this deadline may still register ("late" registration continues until February 5), but they are only able to participate in the informal table portion of the fair.

Hosted by SJI. Lunch will be served. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options will be available. If you have further dietary restrictions, email Diana Pedi at [email protected] at least two business days prior to the event, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
