DMCA Section 512 protects service providers from liability for infringing materials placed on their services by users, provided they comply with statutory conditions. Among other things, it requires service providers to remove infringing material upon receipt of a proper notice from the copyright owner. Is the notice and takedown system workable, or does it need to be modified?
