Please join the Federalist Society for a discussion with Michael A. Carvin, a partner in the Washington D.C. office of Jones Day and one of the nation’s leading appellate lawyers. Mr. Carvin will present on The American Legion v. American Humanist Association, a case in which Mr. Carvin currently represents the American Legion before the U.S. Supreme Court. At issue in the case is whether the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment prohibits a State from having and maintaining a cross-shaped war memorial on public land and with public funds, as well as what test for constitutionality should be applied. Non-pizza lunch will be served.
