Please join the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law (CJEL), the Environmental Law Society, and Social Justice Initiatives for a conversation with Ben Schifman '11 from the Department of Justice's Environment and Natural Resources Division.

Ben Schifman '11 is a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice's Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD). At CLS, Ben was involved in the environmental law clinic, journal of environmental law, and was president of the environmental law society.  After graduating he joined ENRD through the honors program (DOJ's entry-level hiring program).  At ENRD Ben has served as lead counsel on dozens of cases related to stewardship of natural resources and the environment.  His cases have involved everything from siting renewable resources on federal land; management of national parks and forests; clean water act litigation; eminent domain; and many other areas.

Lunch will be served. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options will be available. If you have further dietary restrictions, email Diana Pedi at [email protected] at least two business days prior to the event, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
