Learn about the Externship on the Federal Government--Semester in Washington, DC, which allows students to earn academic credit while working full-time within the federal government. The externship is open to 3Ls in the fall and 2Ls and 3Ls in the spring.

Senior Advisor to the U.S. Trade Representative Timothy M. Reif '85, who coteaches the externship, will discuss the benefits of externing with the federal government. Director of Government Programs and Lecturer in Law Rachel Pauley, who oversee the externship, will be on hand to answer questions about the application and placement process.

Timothy Reif advises the U.S. Trade Representative and other senior Administration officials on all global compliance, investment and regulatory matters, as well as trade and investment negotiations. Previously, he served as the Trade Representative's General Counsel, responsible for compliance with and enforcement of U.S. trade and investment agreements, including in areas such as cross-border data flows and financial services, intellectual property, and a wide range of manufactured and agricultural products.
