DC Externship Info Session

Sep 2021

Learn about the Externship on the Federal Government: Semester in Washington, DC, which allows students to earn academic credit while working full-time within federal government law offices or Washington, DC-based nonprofits. The externship is open to 3Ls in the fall and 2Ls and 3Ls in the spring.

This full-semester offering provides a valuable hands-on complement to the Law School’s more conventional courses in public law. The externship enables students to integrate their public law education in an applied setting. Externs apply to participating federal government law offices or Washington, DC-based nonprofits on a guided basis following admission to the externship. Admission is by application only. Up to 15 students will be selected. Rachel Pauley, Director of Government Programs and Lecturer in Law, oversees placements, including the application process and term-time counseling.

The deadline for the spring 2022 Externship on the Federal Government is October 4, 2021 at 4 p.m. If you have questions regarding the program or the application, please contact Rachel Pauley.

Hosted by Social Justice Initiatives (SJI).
