Please join the Society for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (SIRR) for a talk Wednesday afternoon with Markella Papadouli from the AIRE Centre (Advice on Individual Rights in Europe).

Markella will talk about her current work on asylum and human trafficking in Europe, including an overview of international law of the sea and its relation to international refugee law.

The AIRE Centre is a voluntary organization based in London which gives specialized information and advice throughout Europe on international human rights law and the rights of individuals under EU law. It specializes in litigation before the European Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Justice on issues such as asylum, domestic and gender based violence, human trafficking, and social assistance.

Markella Papadouli is the European Litigation Coordinator at The AIRE Centre. In this capacity she coordinates the AIRE Centre’s strategic litigation team, specializing in taking asylum and trafficking cases before the European Court of Human Rights.
