Please join CIAA for a speaker presentation by Meredith Craven and Rainbow Willard of the premier international arbitration firm, Chaffetz Lindsey. Our distinguished panelists will be presenting on “Advocacy Opportunities for Junior Associates in International Arbitration.”

With the academic year coming to an end, and with so many students heading towards their summer jobs or full-time associate positions in the fall, this special session will focus on strategies to enhance oral and written advocacy skills as a junior associate at a firm’s international arbitration practice. Our panelists will discuss strategies to gain oral and written advocacy experience in the first 1-3 years of your career, as well as the main differences between advocacy opportunities in international arbitration vis-à-vis litigation.

Rainbow Willard joined Chaffetz Lindsey’s international arbitration group in October 2017.  She has broad experience representing clients in international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations under the major international rules (ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID, LCIA, SIAC, etc.) as well as in award enforcement proceedings in US federal court. Prior to joining Chaffetz Lindsey, Rainbow was a senior associate in the international arbitration group of Allen & Overy LLP, practicing in both New York and London. Rainbow clerked for the Honorable Kathleen M. Williams of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and served as an assistant federal public defender in the Southern District of Florida, where she appeared as lead defense counsel in more than 100 federal felony cases.

Meredith Craven is an associate at Chaffetz Lindey’s international arbitration group. She represents clients from the United States, Latin and Central America, Europe and Africa in a broad range of international arbitration matters, including both commercial and investor-state disputes.
She has experience representing clients in proceedings administered under the rules of the ICC, AAA/ICDR, ICSID and UNCITRAL, and HKIAC, as well as in U.S. court actions.  Meredith is an ad hoc member of the New York City Bar Association Arbitration Committee.

This event is generously sponsored by Chaffetz Lindsey. Non-pizza lunch will be served.
