Primary Goals

  • • An understanding of how a district attorney’s office functions
  • • An understanding of the role of a prosecutor and the exercise of discretion
  • • An understanding of a prosecutor’s ethical obligations
  • • An understanding of the important changes taking place in the world of criminal justice
  • At the end of the course, students will have acquired understanding of and/or facility in various lawyering skills, for example, oral advocacy, legal writing and drafting, legal research, negotiation, and client communication
