Please join LaLSA and EWOC in welcoming the Honorable Dora Irizarry, Chief Judge of the Eastern District of New York. Judge Irizarry will discuss, among other things, her pathway to becoming a federal judge and the value of public service.

Judge Irizarry was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico and raised in the South Bronx.  After law school, she served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx and in Manhattan. She is the first Hispanic woman to serve as a state judge in New York, the first Hispanic District Judge to serve in the Eastern District of New York, and the first Chief Judge of that court. Non-pizza lunch will be served.
