Columbia Law School Corporate Responsibility

CRA is dedicated to all things related to corporate responsibility, ranging from current engagements of corporates in social issues, the regulation process of corporate social responsibility, business and human rights, and ESG and SDG as they apply for corporates.  The group’s mission is to engage people from the legal profession and increase awareness about issues surrounding corporate responsibility, encourage interaction amongst students interested in been involved in corporate responsibility, improve regulation in the field and provide both educational and career development opportunities for members.

Columbia Law Students for Voting Rights (CLSVR)

Columbia Law Students for Voting Rights (CLSVR) seeks to provide forward-looking approaches to complex issues facing access to the ballot and the moral and political issue of disenfranchisement. CLSVR aims to inculcate passion for and discourse on voting rights within the Columbia Law School Community and beyond and to convene students, faculty, and practitioners who are invested in voting rights work and interested in advancing effective solutions to disproportionate representation.

Columbia Real Estate Law Society (CRELS)

Columbia's Real Estate Law Society (CRELS) is the law school's only organization that serves students interested in real estate law, transactions, financing, litigation, development and the real estate industry in general. CRELS fosters dialogue between real estate professionals, professors, and Columbia Law students so its members gain exposure to the inner workings of the professional real estate world and the nuanced legal structure that serves as its foundation.

Columbia Society of International Law (CSIL)

The Columbia Society of International Law is Columbia Law School’s principal student group dedicated to issues involving international law. The society informs its members about opportunities to practice international law and current issues in international law; provides members in-person access to many of the top international firms; allows members the opportunity to meet leading scholars in the field; offers guidance and advice on career paths in the fields of public and private international law; and provides opportunities for American and international law students and alumni to form connections with each other that span the globe.

Criminal Justice Action Network (CJAN)

CJAN is dedicated to criminal justice reform and/or abolition. Our mission is to facilitate conversation about criminal justice issues, provide criminal justice career development opportunities, and encourage students to work towards changing/ending the carceral system. CJAN sponsors guest panels on careers in criminal justice, policy developments, and the intersection of criminal justice with other topics, such as immigration. CJAN also sponsors several spring break caravans domestically and puts on the CJAN Mock Trial and Abolition Symposium.

Environmental Law Society (ELS)

The Environmental Law Society welcomes students who want to learn more about the wide range of environmental issues that permeate the legal landscape. ELS assists students in developing careers in environmental or energy law, advocates for an administration and a curriculum that sufficiently incorporates environmental and sustainability policies and courses, and hosts and organizes environmental events at Columbia Law School.

Society for Economic Analysis of Law (SEAL)

Currently Inactive

The Society for Economic Analysis of Law (SEAL) enables students to discuss breaking questions about the impact of economic methodology on the science of law. Students  engage in immersive panels and debates with guest lecturers and faculty experts. The Society also provides resources to students interested in current and future opportunities in the field.
