Housing at Columbia
Columbia Law School guarantees continuous housing to all new incoming 1L students who apply for housing by our May deadline in the year in which you matriculate, so long as you maintain continuous residence at the Law School for all three years of the J.D. program.
Columbia Residential manages on-campus apartment-style housing unites, most of which are located within a 10-block radius of campus. The vast majority of incoming students take advantage of this housing guarantee, and live on campus for all three years.
Columbia Law students enjoy a number of housing options with a variety of amenities and at a number of price points, depending on the type of unit selected:
- Single, couple, and family housing
- Studio and one-bedroom housing
- Shared two- and three-bedroom housing
- Law School-only housing
- General graduate student housing
