M. v. UK. - The Clinic submitted a Third-Party Intervention to the European Court of Human Rights addressing the connection between sex trafficking and slavery. To publicize the issue further, the Clinic published an article in The European Lawyer magazine.

Osman v. Denmark - The Clinic prepared a report on intrafamilial trafficking, with a special focus on girls and young women that was submitted by the London-based Advice on Individual Rights in Europe Centre (the AIRE Centre) to the European Court of Human Rights.  The report focuses primarily on the ways in which this form of forced labor violates international law and, in particular, rights to both family security and bodily integrity protected by the European Convention on Human Rights.

Sent Away: The Trafficking of Young Girls and Women within the Family Unit

 

UNITED STATES

Velez v. Sanchez - Building on its Sent Away report, the Clinic submitted an amicus brief to the Second Circuit highlighting the frequency of intrafamilial trafficking for household work.  The brief explains that, while familial relations can obscure exploitation, international and domestic prohibitions condemn this form of trafficking and forced labor.
