The report focuses primarily on the ways in which this form of forced labor violates international law and, in particular, rights to both family security and bodily integrity protected by the European Convention on Human Rights.

Velez v. Sanchez - Building on its Sent Away report, the clinic submitted an amicus brief to the Second Circuit highlighting the frequency of intrafamilial trafficking for household work. The brief explains that, while familial relations can obscure exploitation, international and domestic prohibitions condemn this form of trafficking and forced labor.
