Rekindling Friendships and Reminiscing
Dear Law School Graduates,
Reunion 2009 was a great success and I’d like to thank everyone who was able to join us for the occasion. Throughout the weekend, I had the pleasure of watching many classmates rekindle friendships and reminisce about their time at the School.
The weekend began on Friday, June 19th at the St. Regis Hotel where several distinguished alumni and professors participated in panels and discussions followed by an all-class cocktail party in the hotel’s beautiful ballroom. In addition to academic activities on Saturday morning, we enjoyed a family-friendly barbeque, tours of the Law School and a memorable address by reunion celebrant Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg ‘59. The weekend came to a close following individual class dinners and dessert and dancing in Lerner Hall.
I’m continually impressed not only by what Columbia Law School alumni have achieved since graduating, but also by their commitment to staying involved and giving back to the School. Over 1,000 alumni and guests gathered to celebrate Reunion 2009 and gifts received in honor of the event totaled over $5.6 million.
I look forward to seeing many of you at future Law School events and I wish you a happy and healthy summer.
