How to Apply
CPRL’s full-semester program is offered in each Fall (Sept-Dec) and Spring (Jan-early May) semester. Applicants interested in joining the program in the upcoming or next following semester should submit the following via CPRL’s online application located here:
- Copy of your unofficial graduate transcript
- Written responses to two application prompts found in link below
After receipt and review of applications, CPRL will inform applicants whether they have been invited for an interview.
Thereafter, CPRL notifies applicants of whether they have been offered a position in the program. The timing of these offers varies, but CPRL makes every effort to inform applicants prior to the close of course registration for the upcoming semester at their home institution. CPRL typically informs applicants within four weeks after the CPRL application deadline.

CPRL Scholar Awards
CPRL provides a small number of tuition support awards (CPRL Scholar Awards) to students who demonstrate exceptional merit and need. To be eligible for a CPRL Scholar Award, students must make a legally enforceable commitment to work three of their first five years after graduation in a full-time government or nonprofit job in or supporting the P-12 education sector.
CPRL Scholar Awards are available only to cover tuition owed for the term in which the student participates in the CPRL program and cannot be used to supplant other scholarships. CPRL Scholar Awards are capped at $20,000. Most awards are $15,000 or less.
If you would like to be considered for a CPRL Scholar Award, please submit the optional application, including a statement of no more than 400 words describing your merit and need, found here.
