April 6: Raising the Bar: Ethical Problems and Possible Solutions in District Attorney Campaign Fundraising- The vast majority of district attorneys are ethical and honest public servants, who make their decisions based entirely on appropriate, fact-based, and relevant criteria. But the combination of (a) very high individual donation limits, and (b) the lack of rules or even guidance for when and how district attorneys should avoid situations where campaign donors are involved in cases before the office, has led to the perception that some district attorneys may be operating under conflicts of interest. Join CAPI on April 6th as we explore these ethical issues in DA campaign fundraising, and propose how to find permanent solutions, with experts in the field. Two Free Ethics and Professionalism CLE credits* are available to non-transitional attorneys. Register here.

April 20: Could (and should) you be looking proactively at data to find corruption?: Ethical and Efficient Corruption Detection for Governmental Agencies and Corporations- Red flags for corruption are often lost within the volume, complexity and fragmentation of data. What’s more, resource constraints, outdated systems and a hesitancy to “look under the hood” keep companies and public agencies from mining data to detect key risk indicators. Join CAPI for The Integrity Forum, an initiative of Exiger, on April 20th, as we discuss how corporations, financial institutions and public organizations can use data analytics to take reasonable, cost-effective steps that allow for actionable intelligence, turning the sheer volume of data from a liability into an asset.
